This is Wikipedia's definition of a tree:
"A tree is a large, perennial, woody plant. Though there is no set definition regarding minimum size, the term generally applies to plants at least 6 m (20 ft) high at maturity and, more importantly, having secondary branches supported on a single main stem or trunk with clear apical dominance . Compared with most other plant forms, trees are long-lived. A few species of trees grow to 115 m (375 ft) tall and some can live for several thousand years.

Trees are important components of the natural landscape due to their prevention of erosion and significant elements in landscaping and agriculture both for their aesthetic appeal and their orchard crops . Wood from trees is a common building material."

We feel this is an under-estimate of the true meaning of a tree.

BAtreehugger could also say something like:
Trees give us oxygen which in turn gives us an essential element to life itself. Oxygen is the one thing we all need, no matter who you are you need it .Your children need it and their children will need it.

So the time has come to do something about it! This is what I have decided to do about it. I quit my job (orthopaedic engineer) and now I am working towards replacing the trees we cut down to live the lifestyles we now want. I believe this in turn will benefit the global environment, as the planting of new trees also reduces the effect of carbon emissions, a prime cause of climate change today.
